Our senses were once an isntrument for discovery. A bitter taste would tell us of poison, a sweet one, a sign of nourishment. Through our senses we would instinctually know what to eat and what to use as medicine. We still have these senses and we can re-discover how to use them simply by taking the time to Listen.
Each month a mystery herb will be delivered to your door and you'll be guided through a mindfulness exercise with the tea. Only after you've had your experience will you find out what the herb is. By studying one herb each month you will become confident in using herbs effectively and safely without feeling overwhelmed. You will get a deep connection with each plant at a pace that suits you. Not to mention, the connection you'll establish with your body too.
You only need to find 30mins of quiet time each month to do this.
Everything else is provided for you.
Once you’ve had your mindful experience bonding with the tea you can then read all about it in the detailed pdf article you’ll get with the mp3. You can then come and share your experiences with other members in our private area of the Forage Botanicals website.
A: It’s ok to not like the taste. This is about using your senses to discover the properties of plants, not just finding teas you’ll enjoy consuming.
A: We do not recommend that you try the herbal tea without first checking what it is and wether it is safe for you to consume. It is your responsibility to do this. If it’s not safe for you to consume it we recommend sitting with the herbal tea and smelling it instead during the audio exercise. Save the herb for using on other people than yourself.
A: The audio exercise is really simple and you don’t really have to meditate. You’ll be guided through paying intense attention to different areas of your body. This is different to meditations where you try to clear your mind.
A: You don’t have to do the audio exercise but that’s our favourite bit. The audio is only 20mins long and if you can’t find 20mins alone time each month maybe it’s time for a change?
A: You sure can. In fact, you get the first month at a discount and if you don’t like it you can cancel at any time within 30 days of when you first signed up. If you signed up on the 5th of June you’d need to unsubscribe by the 5th of July to avoid getting charged for the second month.
A: We send by first class Royal Mail on the 1st Monday of each month and International Royal Mail Worldwide. It usually takes 1-3 working days to arrive in the UK and 5-20 world wide.
A: You’ll receive the digital files the day after we post the physical elements. This will be the first Tuesday of every month.
A: We have worked hard on keeping our packaging as small as possible so the costs are low for postage. The cost is the same for those living abroad as it is for those in the UK. Unless you want a super-duper amazing tracked service. Which you can email me about and we can sort it out.
If you'd like to know what the meditation is like you can listen to the track below. There's also a plant profile sample for you to see exactly what you'd learn and how it's laid out. These are the two digital things you receive each month to accompany your postal supplies. Your posted supplies include the herb, label, tea bags and memory card.
"In a typical day, I rush from place to place always focused on the next thing. It’s wonderful to take time to sit, refocus my senses, and open my mind to learn while I sip. For a gift or for yourself, this is a great way to slow down, learn, and join a community of others — all over the world — doing the same." - Misadventures Magazine
"I feel through Listen I 'listen' more to my senses - I feel I get more in touch with nature and myself and all that at a slighly slower pace. It also has given me a strong awareness and sensitivity towards any herbs." - Franziska
" I really have loved the course. Such a lovely idea and I feel like I have my own little medical cabinet now!" - Melanie
"It's made me realise that there's more to herbalism than just what you read. There is a deeper element to the practice of herbalism that is often ignored in preparations you can get "over the counter". It's really great taking time out for yourself. It helps to learn the herb on all levels and see if your experience is the same as others." - Scott
"Everyone on this planet needs to stop and just be once in a while and with a cup of delicious herbal tea and the chance to learn something new, I don't see why I would do anything other than recommend this! The sense of community, taking much needed time out on a normally hectic full moon to sit and just be. Its a great practice to do, I will definitely continue to do it, with or without a cup of tea!" - Sarah
"I felt peaceful and comforted throughout the session and the whole experience reminded me of how important it is not to pre-judge a herb and just to approach it without preconceptions." - Vanessa
