I’m so happy that Spring is finally here – I bet you are too! It’s always nice to welcome a new beginning and a chance to start fresh. When the weather is nicer it always makes it easier to go outside and move around more too!
Have you noticed anything different with the arrival of the new season? Maybe you’re waking up earlier, you’re mood is sunnier, or maybe you’re noticing that you’re craving for lighter fare?
As the seasons change so do our bodies. In fact, with each season the body naturally detoxifies a different organ. With the arrival of Spring comes the cleansing and rebuilding cycle for the liver and gall bladder.
I developed this recipe as a way to help the body naturally ease in to a gentle Spring cleanse. It’s highly detoxifying and refreshing all at once – I’ve already made it a few times this week already I’m not getting sick of it – at all. If you’re like me and looking to get your body tuned up for the season, this refreshing green smoothie is a great place to start!

- 1 apple (chopped)
- 1 lemon (peeled)
- 1 thumb sized piece of ginger (peeled)
- 1 tsp. green food powder (I love greens+ unflavoured by Genuine Health)
- 1 tbsp. ground flax seed
- 1-2 cups cold, steeped tea (chamomile, dandelion root, or green tea)
