This idea of spring cleaning can be mirrored on our mats with our physical yoga practice. As the days get longer, and the layers come off, there is a feeling of wanting to be light footed and energised.
I’m so happy that Spring is finally here – I bet you are too! It’s always nice to welcome a new beginning and a chance to start fresh. When the weather is nicer it always makes it easier to go outside and move around more too!
The days are getting longer, the air is warming and spring is here. I love this time of year as it always feels like the world is starting to speed up. There is a sense of excitement and I find myself more productive than ever.
For me, spring is all about the element of water and it’s ability to make things clean and fresh. It’s in the melting snow, the budding leaves and shoots, and the freshness and tingle that seems to be in the air!
The theme for this month is Spring Cleaning, and as the sun begins to make a more frequent (and very welcome) appearance, I feel a natural urge to dust out dark corners and lighten the load, both in my home and in my body. I yearn for open windows and a fresh circulation of spring air around my home, in the same way that my body longs to feel light and energetic and well looked after.
